Diagnostic Equipment

InSight Eye Optique prides itself on having the best and most technologically advanced equipment to evaluate the health of your eyes as well as to record and keep safe your medical records. Our attention to using only the best will help assure you of a better diagnosis, a more comfortable and efficient eye exam experience and the assurance that everything is recorded for future reference and needs. Our diagnostic equipment includes:

Electronic Medical Records

  • Increases office efficiency

  • Less time is spent transcribing and writing in charts, so more time can be spent with you─ our patients

  • Supports a “greener” office

Autorefractor/Non-contact tonometer

  • The autorefractor measures the curvature of the front of the eye, the cornea. This provides a starting point in determining the patient’s eye glass prescription .This piece of equipment also provides corneal measurements which aid us in fitting you with the right type of contact lenses.

  • The non-contact tonometer measures the pressure inside the eye and is an excellent screening test for glaucoma. If you’ve ever had this test before, you know the device emits a very gentle puff of air in each eye.

Digital refraction system/computer-assisted eye exams

  • At InSight Eye Optique we use the revolutionary TRS Refraction System by Marco; a fully automated, digital examination tool.

  • Gives the doctor a faster, more accurate, and patient-friendly method of performing eye exams. No more "which is better, one or two? "

  • Increases exam efficiency, so we can spend more time discussing your specific vision condition.

  • Provides an easy comparison of patient’s vision with a touch of a button in three ways:
    1. Without corrective lenses

    2. Using an old prescription, or

    3. Using the patient’s new prescription

Digital retinal photography
We offer digital retinal photos as an important part of our eye exams. The retina is the part of your eye that captures the image of what you are looking at, similar to film in a camera. A digital retinal photo provides:

  • A photo showing a healthy eye or detection of disease.

  • The opportunity for you to view and discuss the image of your retina with your doctor at the time of your exam.

  • A permanent record for your file, which allows us to view your images each year to look for changes.

Many eye problems can develop without any symptoms. You may not even notice any change in your sight. But, diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal tears or detachments, and other health problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be seen with a thorough exam of the retina.
